GOD'S BEAUTY ALL AROUND!

Cycling with my French friends is always one of the highlights of my week. We rotate houses for the starting point and this week we started from Catherine's home which is a lovely home in the woods. As I ride my velo to the start I am always on the look out for beautiful flowers or shrubs to take pictures of for the blog. I love how there is still a lot of color to be seen. Not sure what this crimson red bush is, but it's very pretty.
Alix and Martine had stopped to check out the mules along the path so it gave me a chance to stop and take their pictures as they came around this bend. This photo gives you a good view of the type of trails we ride. The weather was cool, probably in the low to mid 40's. The sun was out when we started and I should have taken this photo then but I thought I would just wait and take it on the return ride home. Talking with Dave when I returned, I told him how I never ride at home when the weather is this cool. Dressing for the weather is a key to having a good time or a not so good time. With an ear warmer under my helmet and gloves and thick socks and three layers on top, I was not cold at all. Maybe when I return to Indy you may see me out and about cycling over the holidays now that I know I can cycle and keep warm.

More color to be seen and it's December 1. Not sure if I ever saw daisies still in bloom in December at home. Dave and I were discussing this weekend how green everything is for early December. It's because it RAINS a lot in this area, so you take the good with the bad.
Along the trail we saw a heron today. One of my favorite parts of bike riding is seeing the wildlife along the trails.

Catherine and Ghislaine are riding along the gulf. They spent some time with me today teaching me some French sentences. All of the women who ride speak English, some more than others. What I really like is they are so patient with me and are now helping me with new words and pronunciations. Now if I could only learn how to make that "R" sound!
We headed to Catherine's home for some chocolat chaud (hot chocolate). What a great way to end the ride!
Dave left for work about a half hour ago. He only has two more nights to work these crazy hours and then back to a regular schedule on Thursday. They are working on a huge project at work in the warehouse. This means waiting until second shift is over until they can begin work. Meghan and I have actually seen him more since he is home until about 8:30 p.m. But for his sake, I am glad he will be back on a regular sleeping schedule.

Mathew 5: 23-24 If you bring your offering to the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift at the altar and go and be reconciled with your brother first. Then come and offer your gift.
