RAINY BRITTANY DAY

Yesterday was cold and rainy off and on during the day. As I walked to the laundry mat in the rain to dry our sheets I passed a flower shop with lemon trees for sale. (This picture was taken when I came out and the sun was shining.) We call this Brittany weather. Rain one minute, sun the next. Yes the sign says 85 euros which is $112!!! So I am thinking at 50 cents a lemon, it would have to produce more than 224 lemons to make it a good investment. Needless to say I'll just keep on buying my lemons at the market.
By the way, rolling suitcases work great for bringing your wet clothes to the laundry mat.
On my retrun home the trees were glistening looking like ice but it was just water droplets after our almost daily quick shower.
Speaking of the market, the French are serious about the market, rain or shine. We have decided in Brittany you just go about your business no matter what the weather is at that moment because the rain can stop as quickly as it startsToday, the English speaking group met to practice their English. Sitting there, I was amazed at the diversity of countries represented which included Germany, France, England, and America. Jeff who is English but says he should have been Scottish, read a poem from Robert Burn's book of poetry, Chambers, using a Scottish dialect. He is married to a German woman, so I was cruious as to what language they speak to each other. She said they speak English together because they don't want to teach each other bad French grammar but French in public. What a great opportunity we have been blessed with here as we learn more and more about the rest of the world.
