Here we are just before the riders arrive. The crowd is becoming more packed. We are still holding our position at the barriers. By the time the riders were here we had been pushed much closer together. Meghan ended up standing in front of me and people were still trying to squeeze between Susie and I.

The riders are here!!!!!!!!!! Remember we are on the uphill side of the Champs-Elysees so these guys are driving uphill. I could not believe how fast they were riding.

In this picture the riders came through much closer to us than before. The Euskultel riders (orange jerseys) are riding right up the gutter. The rider on the far left is George Hincapie of Team Columbia. He is one of the best American riders in his 13th tour.

This is best picture we took the entire day. You can get a sense of how fast the riders are going. Meghan took this picture and hated it because it was "blurry" but I love it.

After the riders go by they are followed by all of the team support vehicles. In the background you can see the riders heading down hill.
I was very grateful to Susie and Meghan for giving up their whole day so I could see the tour.

I am so glad you got to see the Tour de France because I know you have always wanted to see it. Great pictures! I also really liked Meghan's "blurry" picture.
